Waqfs of Crete
This archive consists of official records of Muslim inhabitants of Crete who moved to Turkey during the 1920s as a result of the population exchange between Turkey and Greece. Documents spanning the period from 1825 to 1928 in Ottoman Turkish and Greek provide an opportunity to examine the multi-layered social structure on the island, especially from a cultural and economic point of view. This collection also includes a small number of records from other Greek centers such as Rhodes, Lesbos, Thessaloniki, Kavala, and Alexandroupolis.
Research University Lab 2020 - BAVLAB
The "Research University Lab 2020" project, carried out by Digilogue and SALT together, aims to transform written and visual documents focused on art, design, economy and society issues from the late 19th century to new applications by combining them with high technology. In this context, BAVLAB (Sabancı University) carried out a web project that reveals the relationship between SALT Research Cretan Foundations Archive documents, which have more than 9 thousand records, by examining them according to categories such as date, place, subject, genre and language.
